Inspired by his father’s career in the grocery business and his overall love of food Chuck’s roots in the food and agriculture industry run deep. He joined the Bushel Boy team in 2020, applying his 30 years of experience in branded premium vegetables, agriculture, and food safety to help the brand achieve growth and expansion initiatives. Chuck makes time for leadership roles in industry groups focused on sustainable agriculture and serves as a mentor for the Minnesota Cup.
For Roberto Ramirez, Bushel Boy’s head grower agriculture is not just a passion – it’s second nature. He comes from a family of farmers, spending summers working on his grandfather’s vegetable farm. After college Roberto launched his career at the first high-tech greenhouse operation in Mexico. In the U.S. he gained over a decade of experience as a high-tech greenhouse grower. Roberto continues to extend and implement technological advancements, keeping Bushel Boy on the cutting edge of hydroponic growing.
Nate has extensive food industry experience and intrinsic knowledge of production and operational functions . He launched his career with Hormel Foods, spending over 30 years in operational roles, and serving as plant manager for their second largest facility. At Bushel Boy, Nate spearheads the development and implementation of new processes to take our brand to the next level – all while delighting customers with high-quality, locally grown produce. Nate’s focus areas include food safety, purchasing and quality assurance.
As Bushel Boy’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Derek Eddie is responsible for all sales and marketing initiatives. Having worked in corporate and agency settings he has gained experience and a unique perspective of the marketing and sales disciplines. At Bushel Boy he has successfully increased sales goals and works hard to maintain strong business-to-business customer relationships. Derek directs all Bushel Boy marketing efforts including strategic planning, brand development, and all communications—collateral, website, advertising, and social media.
Bushel Boy Sales Manager Cord Harguth optimizes the experience of the brand’s many retail and foodservice customers. Prior to joining the Bushel Boy team, he worked in sales and category management for Robinson Fresh. In his sales role with Bushel Boy, Cord builds and maintains relationships with current customers, ensuring quality performance from many aspects of the business, including internal and outbound freight. In addition he participates in new business development and attends industry trade shows and events.
We donate literally tons of tomatoes a year to help local food shelves fight hunger, shipping our less than perfect tomatoes to Second Harvest Heartland in the Twin Cities and Channel One in Rochester. We are proud to provide these organizations with fresh, healthy produce to help families in need get good nutrition.
